Shipping and Returns

Shipping and Returns

UPS is Villa Creek Cellars’ carrier of choice. Ground shipping is provided by UPS at current market rates. Due to federal law requiring all wine shipments to be signed for by a person at least 21 years old, a daytime delivery address, preferably a business address, is requested.

*Note – If the customer selects another carrier or an air service as his or her carrier, the customer pays all shipping charges, regardless of his or her wine club membership or purchase amount.

Wine is a Perishable Product

As wine is a perishable product and does not like extreme temperature changes. We will implement weather holds at our discretion throughout the year. If you choose to ship outside of our normal shipping windows, Villa Creek Cellars is not responsible for, and will not replace wine that is damaged by extreme weather conditions during transit. When your wine order is picked up by the common carrier, responsibility for the wine is that of the purchaser. The integrity of the wine is only guaranteed upon the first delivery attempt.

Notifications & Shipments

You will receive multiple email reminders when your order is being prepared to ship and have plenty of time to make adjustments. Once the shipment leaves our facility the purchaser is responsible for the shipment including but not limited to rerouting and accepting the package. If the shipment gets returned to us, the wine goes back into our inventory. We cannot guarantee it will be available at a later date. Responsibility of payment of reshipment falls on the purchaser.

Villa Creek member allocations feature our most coveted wines. You will receive a detailed notification email the day an allocation period opens. This allocation period runs for 2 weeks. In this time, you will have the opportunity to customize your shipment within the current release.

Order Pickups

Order Pickups
Your wine will be stored safely in our warehouse from time of order through to a set “pick up date” clearly stated on all email communications sent around release time. You will receive an email when the wines are ready for pickup.

AS WE ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, please book a tasting reservation to pickup HERE. If you would like to just pickup and not taste, please EMAIL US to set up a pickup date and time. If you do not notify us prior, we cannot guarantee someone will be on site to assist you.

We ask that you book at least one week in advance so that we can make sure we have adequate inventory on site. Failing to book in advance may result in there not being enough inventory on site for you to pickup. If you cannot make it within the designated pickup timeframe, we are more than happy to make arrangements to have your wines shipped to you. If you have an appointment to visit us just outside of the pickup window, we are more than happy to hold your wines for a little bit longer.

LATE PICKUPS - As a small scale facility, we don't have the physical space to store wine that has already been purchased for extended periods of time. We will send several reminder emails during our designated pickup window. If we have not heard from you and your wines have not picked up by the pickup deadline stated in allocation emails, the wines will be returned to inventory and a credit will be issued to your account. If you have a store credit, it will be visible on your account and can be used online or in the tasting room.

What days do you ship international shipments?
Typically, Wine Direct ships to most countries on Monday, Tuesday and Friday (holidays excluded). They can ship to Canada and Puerto Rico Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (holidays excluded).
