2020 This Way That Way MAGNUM
“What do you do when opposites attract? Like it or not, it's a natural reaction.”
- Lene Lovich
50% Grenache, 50% Mourvèdre. TWTW is always one of the most enjoyable wines to blend. It is a smattering of complementary contradictions. Grenache and Mourvèdre, young vines and old vines, fruit and savory. Equal portions of Grenache and Mourvèdre from both James Berry and MAHA come together to provide intoxicating aromas of red fruits, plum, kirsch, Moroccan spices, and truffle. Elements of pomegranate, citrus peel, wet limestone, and cigar box transcend to a silky, textural and concentrated palate. While still in its brooding stage, a brisk decant is recommended in the near term. Several years in the cellar will provide great pleasure as it begins to stretch its wings. Drink 2023-2035
"Made with mostly organic grapes (51% to be exact), this split blend of Grenache and Mourvèdre offers floral aromas of lavender with a touch of elegant berry as well. There's a very firm and unrelenting grip to the palate, as tight tannins frame the rich blackberry, cocoa, Hawaiian Punch and floral hibiscus flavors. Drink now–2035." 94 pts Matt Kettmann
"A blend of 50% Grenache and 50% Mourvedre, the deep ruby colored 2020 This Way That Way is bursting with scents of pomegranate, raspberry and blueberry accented by notes of blood orange and dried herbs. The full-bodied palate is chalky and fresh with a core of savory, slightly rustic fruit and an understated finish. Enjoy it over the next few years." 93 pts Erin Brooks
