Paths to Sustainability
Statement of Integrity
We take great care in selecting each and every ingredient that makes its way onto your plate. We strive to serve the best fresh, local, organically grown or sustainably farmed products in simple, rustic preparations.
Our menu draws from the era when the Spaniards established the California missions, reflecting the seasonal abundance of produce and meats found on the Central Coast. Rancho Mission is a local, sustainable, organic and authentic regional cuisine, full of flavor and seasonally changing.
Producers
We are fortunate to live in an area so abundant in resources. Thanks to the efforts of these local purveyors, among others, we can proudly share this bounty.
Closing The Circle
Along with local and sustainable methods, Villa Creek has launched a process to discard, reduce, and reuse “waste.” This waste includes vegetable bits for composting used to replenish and nourish farming soils. Chicken, meat and game scraps are transformed into pet food. Local farms profit by picking up our used cooking oil and then have it refined into biodiesel for farming equipment. These small and simple efforts are local but have effects of global proportions.
